Windows

1. Allow Linux VMs to resolve Windows NetBIOS names
   • Open Network Connections (ncpa.cpl)
     • Open Properties | IPv4 Properties | Advanced… -> WINS for all wired and wireless adapters
     • Change NetBIOS Setting to Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP
2. Allow ping requests internally
   • Open Windows Defender Firewall | Advanced Settings | Inbound Rules
     • For all Private and Public profiles enable File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request - ICMPv4-In)
3. Configure VirtualBox Host-Only Adapter
   • Open VirtualBox and press Ctrl+H
   • Adapter: Configure Manually
     • IPv4 Address: 169.254.0.1
     • IPv4 Network Mask: 255.255.255.0
   • DHCP Server: Enable Server
     • Server Address: 169.254.0.1
     • Server Mask: 255.255.255.0
     • Lower Address Bound: 169.254.0.100
     • Upper Address Bound: 169.254.0.253
4. Create an SSH key and configure it to load on login
   • Use PuTTYGen to create a keypair
     • Save private key to %USERPROFILE%\.ssh\id_rsa.ppk
     • Copy the key text to %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\authorized_keys
   • Create a shortcut to KAgeant in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
     • Set Start In to %USERPROFILE\.ssh
     • Set Target to KAgeant id_rsa.ppk
